Loma Ridge Report

Our Dash Squad (upper grade leadership team) is excited to host Loma Ridge's first Toy Drive! We will be supporting families in need this holiday season through the non-profit organization Families Forward. Families Forward is an incredible resource, helping those families that are homeless or highly at risk of becoming homeless. Donation bins are accessible in the front office through Tuesday, December 17th. Unwrapped gifts of all sorts and ages are appreciated.

Beginning next week, Yogurtland yogurt cups will be sold immediately after school in the front courtyard for $4 per cup and 30% of sales goes to Loma Ridge PTA.

We're excited to offer a Holiday Book Fair experience for students and parents. Here are some of the details with more detailed information coming to your inbox next week.

• Students will be able to shop during their library time or at lunch from December 12th through the 18th.
• We also have one special event day! Wednesday, December 18th students are invited to wear PJ’s to school. The PTA will be providing hot cocoa after school. The parents will be able to shop without students from 12:45 – 1:15 if they would like to buy holiday gifts. The fair will be open to parent/student shopping from 1:15-2:30.
  

Books are always a fun purchase and can be a fabulous holiday gift as well. We hope you'll join us!

The Yearbook Committee is seeking assistance from parents/teachers/staff/volunteers with collecting photos from school events throughout the year. Please note that uploading photos constitutes your express consent to use your photos/images in the school yearbook. Submission of photos does not guarantee inclusion in the yearbook. WINTER BOWL 2020
On Saturday, January 25, 2020, SoCal Elite Sports, in partnership with Matt Leinart Flag football, will host the 6th Annual Winter Bowl Flag Football Tournament to benefit Irvine Public Schools Foundation. Winter Bowl is the second event of the Irvine Youth Sports Tournament of Champions. Registration for tryouts is now open. https://ocyouthsports.org/irvine/#tournaments

Speak Up, We Care! Did you know that IUSD provides mental health and wellness supports to all students and families?

The Speak Up, We Care Initiative connects students and families to IUSD mental health and wellness resources. This year’s themed newsletters - - Link Up, Be Kind, and Be Well - - will provide tips on how you can build your child’s resilience. We are now entering our second theme of the Speak Up, We Care Initiative - - “Be Kind” - - which focuses on the significance of kindness.
