The Great California Shake-out
Today, Loma Ridge Elementary School joined schools across our District and the state by participating in the 2019 Great California Shakeout this morning to practice being earthquake-ready. I would like to commend our students and staff, who did an excellent job during this important drill. Click here to learn more about how IUSD schools prepare for emergencies and what your family can do.
We live in an earthquake zone and a region that is prone to wildfires among other potential hazards. Drills such as this are a good reminder that emergency preparedness is a community partnership and that we all need to be prepared. I would especially like to remind our families how to stay connected to our school and IUSD during an emergency, which is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
1. First check your email, text messages and voicemail – Make sure your contact information is up to date in Parent Portal.
2. Visit our school website and/or iusd.org for updates and important information
3. Check District social media for real-time updates and information:
- Facebook: facebook.com/irvineunifiedschooldistrict
- Twitter: twitter.com/iusd
- Instagram: instagram.com/irvine_unified
Please note, if you unsubscribed from school or District emails, you will not receive important updates during an emergency. To re-subscribe, email helpdesk@iusd.org. To make sure you are signed up for text messages, text "Y" to 67587 from each wireless device on which you wish to receive texts.

Don't forget to Join PTA & Make a Pledge!
Please also consider donating to our Pledge Drive. The funds raised will ensure that our PTA is able to provide assemblies for our students, classroom grants, community building events and so much more! As a new school, we are starting from scratch and our ability to provide these experiences and resources is dependent upon the funds raised.
